CURTIS-Y CALLS

As a nearly lifelong fan of Jamie Lee [“The Liberation of Jamie Lee Curtis”], ever since I saw her in Halloween, I knew she was still extremely talented. But now I know she is still cool too. And an inspiration to all of us who aged with her. Go Jamie!

She made the pixie cut famous!

Jamie Lee is nearly the same age as me and also a SoCal girl. And she has lived authentically and genuinely, unabashedly confident and in charge of her life. I love her spunk! It wasn’t easy for her to get there, but her perseverance has brought her to a place of peace, challenge, excitement and unbounded joy! Her compassion knows no bounds. I live vicariously through her. Blessings.

EATING OUR WAY TO HEALTH

I’ve been a member of AARP since 2022, and the article “Cook Your Way Out of Prediabetes” by chef Bob Blumer is absolutely my favorite article. I recently received my own diagnosis of prediabetes, and Bob’s friendly, humorous article is packed full of helpful information. His article helped me feel better and start planning my path to health. Now, when will you publish a book with these wonderful tips and recipes?

As one of an estimated 1.8 million Americans living with type 1 diabetes, I think you should have made it clear that this article relates only to [the potential onset of] type 2. Changes to your diet won’t prevent type 1.

DEBBIE GIBSON

I admit I do not know any of Debbie Gibson’s songs. But seeing her wearing a dress showing Robert Freeman’s iconic photo of the Fab Four impressed me a lot!

KEN EGEL

[Debbie Gibson] brought me through some rough times when I joined the Navy—kept me positive and looking for good times.
