Get in Sync

Access all your important info on every device

IT’S A COMMON problem: You have calendar appointments, notes and contacts stored on various devices, and those may not share information.

Ying Cheng, a contact center agent with Senior Planet From AARP, says the solution is to use a common digital “ecosystem” to keep info handy.

Google. This includes services such as Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Contacts, plus Google Keep (for notes). Just sign in to your Google account and enable syncing in Chrome on all devices.

Microsoft. If you use Microsoft services like Outlook, syncing is just as easy. Outlook handles contacts and calendars, while OneNote works well for notes—all linked through your Microsoft account.

Apple. Sign in to your Apple account. Then go to iCloud in your settings and make sure Contacts, Calendars and Notes are turned on to keep everything synced across your iPhone, iPad and Mac.
