More than 79 million recordings are at this global marketplace of individual sellers, including many record stores. “We’re like the world’s largest record fair,” Discogs COO Lloyd Starr says. The Wantlist lets you input records you want, then alerts you when one is for sale.

If you seek mint condition records but fear shipping damage, Acoustic Sounds has “something called the suitcase box,” says CEO Chad Kassem. “Three levels of cardboard and a pocket of air around the records.”

This online marketplace has long been established as the place to find collectible items from private sellers. And that includes records. Just type the name of the artist and the album in the search field, and the odds are it will appear.
FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE
Individual sellers offer used records for sale, individually or in bulk. Another way to find old records is through Facebook Groups. Search for keywords such as “vinyl” or “CD” and you can join groups dedicated to buying and selling. —Ed Condran
