THIS IS 50

Your ‘Pee-wee’ Adventure Awaits

AUGUST 9 MARKS 40 years since the release of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, the Tim Burton–directed comedy starring Paul Reubens as a man searching for what he loves most: his bicycle. If you’re near one of these locations, grab a bow tie and go pay homage to this Gen X classic.

San Antonio

“There’s no basement at the Alamo!” a giggling tour guide tells a disappointed and embarrassed Pee-wee in the film. While this is technically true, there is a basement next door, beneath the Alamo gift shop.
