Can’t Stop the Music

When you see a favorite band play live, you’ll recognize the hits, but the people playing them could be a mystery. Here are some acts on the road this year with no original members.

⚡️ FOREIGNER

Formed: 1976 On tour: June–October.

Guitarist Mick Jones is involved in the band, but health issues keep him from touring.

⚡️ LITTLE RIVER BAND

Formed: 1975 On tour: April–December.

This soft rock group has cycled through more than 30 members over the years. The last original member left in the late ’90s.

⚡️ THE FOUR TOPS

Formed: 1954 On tour: April–November.

Abdul “Duke” Fakir was the last of the original Tops, but he retired from the group and died last year.

⚡️ MOLLY HATCHET

Formed: 1971 On tour: April–November.

Keyboardist John Galvin goes back to 1983 with the Southern rock band; guitarist Bobby Ingram, to 1987.

⚡️ LYNYRD SKYNYRD

Formed: 1964 On tour: April–October.

Johnny Van Zant, younger brother of original frontman Ronnie Van Zant, has fronted the iconic band since 1987.
