Saluting Members of Congress

AARP has chosen eight legislators as its 2010 Congressional Award recipients for their work to improve the lives of 50-plus Americans and their families.  Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) and Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) were cited for efforts to lower drug costs for older Americans.  Honored for protecting access to doctors were Sens. Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).  AARP also saluted Reps. Steve LaTourette (R-Ohio) and Doris Matsui (D-Calif.) for helping to ensure communities have safe mobility and transportation options for older Americans.
