Taylor Branch's 'At Canaan's Edge'

Historian gives an insightful look at the final years of Martin Luther King Jr.

After eight years of work, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian
Taylor Branch has finished his third and last volume covering
the final years of Martin Luther King Jr. Published in 2007, At Canaan's Edge: America in the King Years, 1965-68 was worth the wait.

Using the White House tapes of President Lyndon B. Johnson, and even FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover's infamous wiretaps, Branch delved deep to reveal the personalities and principles during the tumultuous civil rights era.
