Senate Blocks Votes on Jobs Bills

Obama, Senate Dems promise to keep pushing

The Senate has once again blocked Democratic efforts to pass President Obama’s jobs plan.

The recent vote (50-50) was short of the 60 votes the Democrats needed in order to move the bill forward. Despite the Republican opposition, Obama and Senate democrats promise to press ahead with separate votes on parts of the $447 billion failed jobs plan.

"For the second time in two weeks, every single Republican in the United States Senate has chosen to obstruct a bill that would create jobs and get our economy going again," Obama said in a statement after the vote. Read article at CNN.
