America's military veterans have served our country in battle during two world wars, and in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and other places near and far.

They did their part. Many are still doing their part. On Veterans Day, it's our turn to honor and serve them.

AARP commends the millions of veterans who have bravely served our country and also recognizes the parents and caregivers of our veterans who care for their loved ones as they return home.

In honor of Veterans Day and in recognition of their dedication and commitment to service, AARP is offering a 30 percent membership discount for veterans, their families and anyone interested in joining or renewing an AARP membership from Nov. 8 through Nov. 15, 2013.

AARP will also donate 10 percent of the membership dues from this special offer to support USO Warrior and Family Care Programs, a comprehensive program that helps provide long-term care for wounded, ill or injured warriors and their families.

Visit www.aarp.org/veteransday or call 1-888-464-4366 to take advance of this special offer.

Through the support of AARP members, last year’s donation of $169,000 helped construct the new USO Warrior and Family Care Center in Fort Belvoir, Va. The center, open to all active duty military, including National Guard and reserves, and their families, is the largest USO center ever constructed at 25,000 square feet.

This state-of-the-art facility provides signature USO programs and events for military families, junior enlisted and single service members, as well as robust programming for the wounded, ill and injured and their families throughout the rehabilitation process.
