Sharing the History of Black Cowboys

Each fall, Black cowboys on horseback roll through the streets of Oakland, California during the city’s annual Black Cowboy Parade and Festival. The event is hosted by the Oakland Black Cowboy Association.

Independent producer Julie Caine brings us some background on the cowboys (and girls) in this week’s Prime Time Postscript.

Listen to meet the group's president, Wilbert McAlister, and its historian, Alvin Brooks.
