2013 AARP Annotated Survey and Methodology of Nebraska Resident Age 18+ On Taxes
Nebraska conducted a telephone survey of residents 18+ to gauge their opinions on state taxes.
Key findings include:
- About a quarter of respondents think the current state and local tax system is a fair one.
- Nearly half of respondents (46%) believe that all taxpayers should pay exactly the same percentage of state and local income taxes regardless of their income.
- Less than half of respondents (44%) believe that higher income tax payers should pay a higher percentage of their income for state and local taxes than lower income taxpayers.
This AARP Survey obtained telephone interviews of 807 respondents aged 18+ who were residents of Nebraska. The interviews were conducted in English on landline telephones by Woelfel Research, Inc. from November 21 – December 2, 2013. The results from the study were weighted by age and gender.
