Most Tax-Aide services have concluded for the 2020 tax season to align with the July 15 extended filing deadline. If you are a taxpayer who still has an appointment scheduled for after July 15, please follow the instructions provided by your point of contact.

Tax-Aide is also providing software options (below) to file taxes on your own—at no cost.

Software to Help You Prepare and File Your Own Tax Returns

These services are provided through the Free File Alliance, a nonprofit coalition that partners with the IRS to offer several tax software options.

Please review the information below to see if you are eligible to use one of these software options.

Each link will take you to a designated webpage where you will be asked to supply information to begin a secure account with the particular service provider.

Option 1: TurboTax

Use TurboTax to file a free federal and state return if:

  • Your *Adjusted Gross Income is $36,000 or less, OR

  • You are eligible for the *Earned Income Tax Credit, OR

  • You are an active duty member of the military with Adjusted Gross Income

    of $69,000 or less

Option 2: Online Taxes

Use Online Taxes to file a free federal and state return if:

  • Your Adjusted Gross Incom is between $14,000 and $69,000, OR

  • You are an active duty member of the military with Adjusted Gross Income

    of $69,000 or less

Adjusted Gross Income - Your wages, dividends, capital gains, business income, retirement distributions plus other income less adjustments such as educator expenses, student loan
interest, alimony payments or contributions to a retirement account.

Earned Income Tax Credit -A tax credit for low- to moderate-income working individuals and couples, particularly those with children.
