Have the bride shop for wedding dresses between Thanksgiving and Christmas, when stores are largely empty, for savings up to 35 percent, say Denise and Alan Field, authors of Bridal Bargains. Champagne is cheapest to buy around New Year's. And if you're already making plans, realize that a brunch or lunch reception saves at least 30 percent compared to dinner.
