Living on a Budget
by Joan Rattner Heilman, From the AARP Bulletin Print Edition, December 1, 2009
Have furniture you don’t need? Trade the clutter for a tax deduction and a warm feeling in your heart.
More than 60 nonprofit Furniture Banks nationwide will pick up your furniture donation for free and pass it along to families who desperately need it, including mothers and children escaping domestic violence and working families living below the poverty line. The items accepted vary, although they must be in decent condition.
