Medicaid Misery

States budget cuts affect on critical long-term care services for the elderly and the disabled.

State and federal budget cuts are taking their toll on everyone.  But two groups—the disabled and elderly—are especially scared that Medicaid cuts will force them from their homes. 

Inside E Street features the story of Chip and Linda Eubanks, a mother and a son who are physically disabled and directly affected by the state budget cuts on home care services. 

In March, 2010, MetLife conducted a study on the emotional and financial effects of disability.

Dr. Ron Leopold, MetLife's Medical Director, talks with Sheilah Kast about the key findings of the study and the impact a sudden disability has on workers.
