AARP Tucson Information Center Renovates and Expands
The AARP Tucson Information Center recently hosted an open house for AARP members and the general public to celebrate its recent renovation and expansion.
The Information Center, in addition to providing helpful resources and information, now has a conference room for local community and program presentations as well as offices.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide assistance and AARP Driver Safety Program classes will now be held there beginning this winter. Information Center volunteers also continue to provide visitors with a host of AARP literature and resources on a variety of issues important to people 50+. Some of the helpful information at the center include resources about Medicare and Social Security, consumer protection and health care.
"We're excited about the recent expansion which will allow us to provide more services and assistance including helping with taxes during this upcoming 2012 tax filing season,” said Cynthia Fagyas, AARP Arizona Communications Director. “We will also feature community presentations on various issues and offer the AARP Driver Safety Program class at our center. We hope folks will stop by and visit with our volunteers to learn more about the services we offer here. We’re also looking for volunteers to help staff the center. We have flexible shifts and it's a great way to stay engaged and assist people on a variety of issues."
The AARP Tucson Information Center is located at 6700 N. Oracle Road, Suite 331. For Volunteer opportunities please call 520-544-2515.
