Become a long-term care ombudsman volunteer.
You'll help families navigate this learning process and ensure that residents have the quality of life and quality of care they deserve.
As an ombudsman volunteer, you'll provide information about resident rights and quality of care to residents and family members. You'll help residents resolve minor complaints and assist ombudsman staff in resolving complex complaints.
The time commitment is flexible between 3-10 hours per month and the volunteer coordinator will help you decide where to volunteer. You'll receive training, ongoing support, and continuing education.

AARP Ohio is working with the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman to achieve the goal of placing one ombudsman volunteer in each of the 964 nursing homes in Ohio. You can make a difference.
