“We look forward to hosting this event for our older adults in the St. Louis metropolitan area – and others – who might visit the Botanical Garden,” said Marge Capp, community service/education volunteer state coordinator for AARP Missouri. “Our team of volunteers plan all year for this big event that attracts so many people and organizations that provide services to seniors.”
The event is free for St. Louis City and St. Louis County resident from 9 a.m. until noon; from noon until 4 p.m., the cost is $4.00. The cost for non-residents is $8.00 all day.
In addition to scheduled educational and fun activities, numerous door prizes will be given throughout the day. This year’s grand door prize is a Sanyo 26” HDTV with built-in DVD player. “Each year we strive to offer participants a variety of activities, “Capp said. She also indicated that the number of exhibitors has grown tremendously over the last seven years. Capp said, “Our AARP volunteers have not lost their enthusiasm for this fun day at the Botanical Garden.”
