We work hard to address the health, economic, and quality of life concerns of our 2.4 million members, their families and all 50+ New Yorkers such as promoting financial security, ensuring adequate and affordable health care, and fostering livable communities. Driving Safely As You Age

The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation’s first and largest driver safety course designed to help people age 50+ sharpen their driving skills and refresh their knowledge of the rules of the road. More than 96,000 New Yorkers have taken the classroom course which is administered by 740 trained volunteers at 2,700 locations in the state. Helping Job Seekers Find Employment

AARP WorkSearch is an online employment assistance tool that can help older job seekers in New York assess their skills, provides online courses, and matches people to available jobs. Helping People Prepare Their Tax Returns

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance service available to low and moderate-income taxpayers of all ages with special attention to people age 60+. Each year, more than 1,600 Tax-Aide volunteers in New York help over 93,900 people with their tax returns, making sure they receive all of the deductions for which they may be eligible. Giving a Voice for People Needing Long-Term Care

Long-Term Care Ombudsman volunteers serve as advocates for residents in nursing homes and adult care homes in New York. To learn more, email or call 866-227-7442.

Helping People to Live at Home

AARP Foundation Money Management: Provides bill paying assistance to older adults who are unable to perform certain activities. Volunteers help to organize bills, develop household budgets and prepare checks for the client's signature. Presently, volunteer opportunities are only available in New York City.
