Give Back, Create The Good

Giving back helps keep all of us active and healthy, while meeting urgent needs among our extended families, neighborhoods and the other communities to which we belong.

AARP members already make a difference in their communities in a variety of ways. AARP and NRTA have a long tradition of volunteering and service to others. Now, AARP is expanding the opportunities we provide to help people give back. It’s called Create the Good.

Create the Good makes it easy to share your time or talents in a way that suits you, whether you have five minutes, a few hours or more. Throughout 2009 and beyond, AARP Nebraska will be encouraging our members to participate in Create the Good opportunities.

Whether it’s helping an elderly neighbor save money on their energy bills, helping an aunt or uncle manage their medications safely and effectively, or helping a friend stay in their own home by making some minor modifications, Create The Good has a variety of tool kits, check lists, and ideas to help others. Many of these activities are simple actions that can be done in a few minutes, a few hours or in an ongoing way. Each action, no matter how small has a big impact on those you help.

In addition to the online tool kit at www.createthegood.org, we’ve set up an online community for Create The Good, where you can connect with others and share ideas.
