And did we ever at the BlogHer conference held in Los Angeles. BlogHer is the world’s largest celebration of women content creators — influencers mingling with other influencers. The event this year welcomed 3,500 women of all ages.
Disrupt Aging created an evening session welcoming 50 influencers. Champagne, tidbits and conversation were flowing the moment one walked into the room. The hosts, Elisa Camahort, cofounder and COO of BlogHer; Beverly Jackson, vice president of social media marketing and content for MGM Resorts; and the vivacious Lorraine Ladish, founder and CEO of VivaFifty.com were funny and frank, and had an undeniable chemistry that kept the attendees participating. The audience was diverse, intelligent and vehemently interested in the subject of aging, breaking barriers, raising the level of conversations and, of course, tweeting.

Clearly, the excitement and support in the room was contagious. We spoke a little more to some our favorite tweeters and what they experienced from the Disrupt Aging evening. Here’s their feedback (beyond 140 characters!):

What affected you most by this meeting?
It zeroed in on a topic not discussed enough. People were REAL and very transparent about their experiences with aging. It helped to hear a variety of perspectives and suggest ways to change/improve the narrative.
What was your takeaway: Continue to embrace the NEW: learn, adapt, grow! Be positive. Take action.

What was your takeaway from the evening?
It was wonderful to participate and be encouraged to “own” your age. I did not realize that I was missing out by not being willing to. Now I can take advantage by telling my whole story — with no “gaps.” Extremely helpful.
How do you disrupt aging?
Doing! I’m about to turn 49. I want to do 50 new things before I’m 50.
Yvonne Condes @MomsLA
Why was this evening with Disrupt Aging so special to you?
There are no limits to your dreams, and it was good to be reminded of that. All of the speakers had such a different perspective — two of the incredible hosts reinventing themselves over 40. You don’t have to be young.
Why the buzz about this Disrupt Aging meeting:
There is nowhere else to talk about this subject! This was not an Instagram “perfect life” session — this was being real!
Does the whole world want to talk about Disrupt Aging? It seems they do, and we very much look forward to the next one.
