Create Your Own Gingerbread House
Follow this tutorial to make a merry masterpiece and help liven up your home for the holidays
There’s nothing like assembling and decorating your very own gingerbread house during the holidays. Follow along as Katie Hardy demonstrates one of the oldest holiday traditions there is — gingerbread house making.
You can start with your own supplies, or to make it easy, purchase a kit. It’s recommended to have extra graham crackers or to purchase two kits in case you receive broken pieces. Multiple companies make gingerbread kits — including Wilton, World Market and Dylan’s Candy Bar — and Sensitive Sweets offers a vegan, gluten-free kit.
For extra fun, purchase your favorite assortment of candies, sugar cones and extra premade frosting, along with some food coloring. This sweet activity is sure to bring out your creativity as you learn various piping techniques and cake decorating hacks. Make sure to bring your imagination along!
