Through Basketball, Cousins Find Reward

‘Alaskan Nets’ is an engaging film with ample amounts of compassion and cultural integrity

Metlakatla is Alaska's last Native Indian reserve. For hundreds of years, two distinct traditions have defined their community — fishing and basketball.

In Alaskan Nets, two cousins lead their high school team toward a shot at its first state championship in more than 30 years. In the aftermath of an unimaginable tragedy, a basketball title has the ability to breathe life back into this small town.

Please note this film contains references to suicide, which some individuals may find distressing.
