AARP Foundation has launched a Cooking Matters at the Store pilot program in eight sites across the country. Cooking Matters takes participants into grocery stores to teach them how to shop smarter and use nutrition information to make healthier choices so they can cook delicious, affordable meals at home.

Participants learn the food skills needed to buy healthier foods on a budget. AARP Foundation believse that everyone should have the opportunity to understand what constitutes good nutrition, to know how to shop for healthy foods and how to prepare them.
