Medicare Advantage (MA) now covers about half of all people with Medicare, and MA’s supplemental benefits are one important feature of MA coverage. Yet data are lacking on how many enrollees use those benefits, who is accessing them, the specific services used, and which benefits are most meaningful to consumers. Better information would enable greater transparency on supplemental benefits’ reach and help policymakers ensure those benefits meaningfully support enrollees’ health and well-being. More robust data could also advance important goals of improved value and equity in the Medicare program. #MedicareAdvantage #Data #HealthCare #OlderAdults https://lnkd.in/e6jiWfty

Every adult in America deserves to retire with dignity and with confidence in their financial security. Yet new data from AARP Research shows that 1 in 5 older adults have no retirement savings, and more than 60% worry they will not have enough money to see them through their retirement years. AARP has long fought for state and federal measures to help more people save for retirement, but we need swift action from Congress. The time to solve the retirement crisis is NOW. The rise in vacant commercial buildings presents numerous challenges for urban areas. Economic impacts include the direct reduction in property tax revenues and stifling of economic development, which in turn impacts city services and programs. Social impacts typically include an increase in criminal activity and public health and safety hazards. To confront these challenges, cities of all sizes around the world are exploring converting these buildings into other uses, including much needed #AffordableHousing. Join us on April 23rd for AARP’s Next Equity by Design webinar, Vibrant Encores: Vacant Buildings Helping to Solve the Housing Crisis, where we will be discussing how cities of all sizes around the world may be converting a variety of #VacantBuildings into other uses yet continue to fail in recognizing the needs of people as they age.
