How can I have federal taxes withheld from my Social Security benefit?

En español | Fill out IRS form W-4V, the Voluntary Withholding Request.  The form lets you choose between four percentages to be withheld: 7 percent, 10 percent, 15 percent or 25 percent.  

Download a copy of the form from the IRS website (www.irs.gov) or get one by calling the IRS at 1-800-829-3676 or 1-800-772-1213. People who are deaf or hard of hearing may use the TTY number, 1-800-325-0778.  Mail or take the completed form to your local Social Security office.
