AARP Board Chair Lloyd E. Johnson was honored on April 18 by the University of South Carolina’s School of Business. Johnson’s recognition was part of the school’s 38th Annual Leadership Awards which recognize individuals who have distinguished careers and a history of service to the school, university and community. Johnson was presented with the distinguished service award in recognition of his active role in community service and development.
House Bill 5118, the much talked about Energy Security Act is now in the Senate. State Senators will soon take up debating this bill. AARP SC delivered a letter (embed link) to all Senators urging them to vote NO on the bill in its current form. The Senate Judiciary Committee has amended the bill to reinstate some consumer and regulatory protections.
