Whether you are 10+ years away or just beginning to make retirement decisions, and if you have not yet claimed your Social Security or retirement benefits, this program is for you.
AARP’s “Ready for Retirement” workshop Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. – 1p.m. at the People’s Institutional Baptist Church, 159 24th Avenue in Seattle. Admission is free, but space is limited and reservations are required. Register online or call toll-free 1-877-926-8300.
“A successful and happy retirement can mean different things to different people,” says AARP Communications Director Jason Erskine. “Maybe it includes new hobbies, travel or more time with friends and family. Or it could include some part-time work,” he said. “But once you determine what your retirement will look like, it’s important to map out how you’ll get there financially.”
Here’s a snapshot of the day:
- 9 a.m.: Continental breakfast and an opportunity for informal networking
