Workplace Culture / Continued Opportunities: Employees working 30 or more hours per week are offered tuition reimbursement, while all employees can benefit from certification classes, in-house classroom training and online training programs. Pinnacol offers on-site college courses in partnership with a local college as well as an on-site MBA program.

Long-service anniversaries are celebrated with announcements, parties and awards. Upon retirement gifts are offered as well as monetary awards based on years of service.

Numerous benefits have been enhanced because of employee feedback including the addition of a 401(k) company match and a 457 plan option for employees, domestic partner benefits and adoption assistance, on-site college classes at both the undergraduate and graduate level, on-site health and wellness classes, free flu shots, on-site Weight Watchers program and increased tuition level payouts.

Employees have opportunities to gain new experiences by working on temporary assignments in other departments and on team projects.

Ergonomic evaluations are performed on every employee upon hire and accommodations are made including the purchase of exercise balls as well as sit-stand workstations for those with chronic back pain.
 
Benefits/Health: Employees working 30 or more hours per week can receive individual and family medical coverage, individual and family prescription drug coverage, individual and family vision and dental insurance, as well as short- and long-term disability. All employees are eligible for individual and family long-term care insurance.

Health benefits for retirees include individual and spouse medical and drug coverage, individual and spouse vision and dental coverage, and individual and spouse life insurance or other death benefit coverage. New hires are eligible for all of the above benefits upon retirement.

Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) are available to assist in covering out-of-pocket health care costs.
