Benefits/Health: Employees working 16 or more hours per week receive individual and family medical coverage, individual and family prescription drug coverage, individual and family vision and dental insurance as well as short-term disability. Individual and family long-term care insurance is offered to all employees while long-term disability is offered to employees working 30 or more hours per week.
Retirees receive individual life insurance or other death benefit coverage and new hires are eligible for this benefit upon retirement.
Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) are available to assist in covering out-of-pocket health care costs.
Benefits/Financial: Full- and part-time employees are offered a 403(b) plan with employer match and those working 16 or more hours per week are eligible for a money-purchase defined contribution plan. All new hires are automatically enrolled in the 403(b) plan, employees age 50 and above can make catch-up contributions to their plan and may invest in lifecycle funds that automatically re-allocate assets based on age or proximity to retirement.
Staff members, external financial planning experts and staff from the financial services firm that administers the retirement plans provide financial information and training to employees.
Short-term and long-term leaves of absence without pay are offered to allow for care giving.
Full- and part-time employees are offered flu shots, health screenings, health risk appraisals, smoking cessation programs, health club discounts, physical activity and weight loss programs, stress management training, wellness lunch and learn sessions, and nutritional counseling. Pinnacle's Wellness Works initiative gives employees the opportunity of receiving a discount to their health insurance premiums by participating in healthy activities and wellness events throughout the year.
Pinnacle Health offers referral services and back-up care to assist with child care, care for grandchildren and eldercare to its full- and part-time employees.
Benefits/Alternative Work Arrangements: The following alternative work arrangements are offered to full- and part-time employees: flextime, compressed work schedules, job sharing, telecommuting, and a formal phased retirement program. Employees interested in the formal phased retirement program must work 16 or more hours per week and be age 55 with 10 years of service or age 65 with five years of service (see highlights section for further information). Full-time employees are eligible to move to part-time work on a permanent and temporary basis.

The hospital stays connected with its retirees by communicating regularly, inviting retirees to organization events, and by formally acknowledging retirees when they retire. Retirees are offered part-time work and volunteer opportunities.
