Engaging Leadership Excellence is a four-part program offered at Manheim consisting of workshops to help supervisors, managers and more senior leaders polish and develop their leadership skills. Manheim recognizes the value of its mature workforce with 57 percent of its employee population age 50 and over and 19 percent of these employees having worked for the company for over twenty years.

Additional Policies and Practices:

Recruiting: Manheim's field operating locations have advertised with and created partnerships with retirement communities and local senior centers and some have also met with local AARP offices.
 
Workplace Culture / Continued Opportunities: In-house classroom training, online training and certification classes are learning and development programs offered to all employees. Tuition reimbursement is offered to employees working 30 or more hours per week.

Long-service anniversaries are celebrated with announcements, parties and awards.

Employees have opportunities to gain new experiences by working on temporary assignments in other departments, on team projects and by participating in formal job rotation programs.  

Accommodations made for employees include providing job reassignments for employees with physical limitations, providing magnifying equipment for computer monitors for employees with visual impairment, and providing amplifying equipment for telephones for employees with audio impairment. They also offer preferred parking for expectant mothers or those recuperating from illness or surgery.
 
Benefits/Health: Employees working 30 or more hours per week receive individual and family medical coverage, individual and family prescription drug coverage, individual and family vision and dental insurance, individual and family long-term care insurance, as well long-term disability. Short-term disability is available to employees working 40 hours per week.

Health benefits for retirees include individual and spouse medical and drug coverage, individual and spouse dental and vision coverage, individual and spouse long term care insurance, as well as individual and spouse life insurance or other death benefit coverage.

All of the above benefits are available to new hires.
