Employees with 25 or more years of service receive a monetary award

Benefits/Financial: Employees working 20 or more hours per week are offered a 403(b) plan with employer match. All new hires are automatically enrolled in the 403(b) plan, and employees age 50 and over can make catch-up contributions to their plan.

Employees are offered financial education from the staff of the financial services firm that administers their savings plan.

Short- and long-term leaves of absence without pay are offered to allow for caregiving.

Full- and part-time employees are offered wellness benefits such as smoking cessation programs, health club discounts and weight loss programs.

Eastern National offers employees a dependent care flexible spending account.

Benefits/Alternative Work Arrangements: Full-time employees working 40 hours per week can participate in flextime and compressed work schedules. Full-time employees are eligible to move to part-time work on a permanent or temporary basis.  

Opportunities for Retirees: Eastern National has 126 retirees, and an individual directly responsible for retiree relations. The organization stays connected to its retirees by communicating with them on a regular basis. Retirees are offered work opportunities that include temporary work assignments, consulting or contract work, and full-time or part-time work.

Age of Workforce: Forty-nine percent of Eastern National employees are age 50 and over. The average tenure of those employees is 6 years.
