Cianbro Corporation's wellness program, the Healthy Lifestyle Program, guides participants toward optimal health behaviors by identifying risks and by providing the education and coaching necessary to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Participants complete health risk appraisals and meet with health coaches who can provide guidance on how to reach their health goals. The program focuses on preventable health risk behaviors such as tobacco use, nutrition and exercise, and controllable measurable health risks such as blood pressure and cholesterol.

Cianbro also covers the cost of several other benefits such as the Employee Assistance and Work/Life Balance Program and the services of Health Advocate. Through Health Advocate, team members receive assistance with resolving medical claims, finding a doctor or eldercare, setting up appointments with specialists and much more.

Additional Policies and Practices:

Recruiting: Cianbro uses senior placement agencies to target mature workers and retirees. In addition, the company often rehires their retirees to train new employees.

Workplace Culture/Continued Opportunities: Employees working 20 or more hours per week are offered the following learning and development programs: tuition reimbursement, in-house classroom training, online training, mentoring programs and certification classes.

Long-service anniversaries are celebrated with announcements, parties and awards.

Employees have opportunities to gain new experiences by working on temporary assignments in other departments, on team projects, and by participating in a formal job rotation program and mentoring program.

Job reassignments are offered to employees who cannot perform their normal job duties because of physical limitations.
