En español | The Bureau of Labor Statistics just came out with projections for the fastest-growing jobs between now and 2022. Not surprisingly, the demand for workers in the health care field continues to grow as the population ages. Here are the top 10 jobs with the most growth between 2012-2022.

Personal Care Aides

Projected growth through 2022: 48.8 percent

Median salary: $19,910

Duties: Help individuals with everyday tasks, including dressing, grooming, light housekeeping and preparing meals.

Education: High school diploma or less

Registered Nurses

Projected growth through 2022: 19.4 percent

Median salary: $65,470

Duties: Provide and coordinate patient care, teach patients how to manage their illnesses or injuries.

Education: A bachelor's degree in nursing, an associate's degree in nursing or a diploma from an approved nursing program if required; registered nurses must also be licensed.

Retail Salespersons

Projected growth through 2022: 9.8 percent

Median salary: $21,110

Duties: Sell merchandise, such as clothing, furniture and appliances; process customers' payments.

Education: None is required, though some companies prefer a high school diploma.

Home Health Aides

Projected growth through 2022: 48.5 percent

Median salary: $20,820

Duties: Provides routine care such as bathing and dressing the elderly, patients recovering from surgery and people with disabilities; monitors and reports changes in health status.

Education: No formal education is required, although most aides have a high school diploma.

Customer Service Representatives

Projected growth through 2022: 12.6 percent

Median salary: $30,580

Duties: Handles customer complaints, processes orders and provides information about company products and services.

Education: A high school diploma is often required; on-the-job training is typically provided; basic computer skills are usually needed.

Accountants/Auditors

Projected growth through 2022: 13.1 percent

Median salary: $63,550

Duties: Prepare and examine financial records, making sure that records are accurate and taxes are paid properly and on time. Accountants and auditors also assess financial operations to help organizations run efficiently.

Education: Most employers require a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. A certification within a specific field, such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), improves job prospects.

Medical Secretaries

Projected growth through 2022: 36 percent

Median salary: $31,350

Duties: Perform routine clerical and administrative duties, including organizing files, drafting messages, scheduling appointments and supporting other staff.

Education: A high school diploma is usually required; candidates should have basic office and computer skills.

Carpenters

Projected growth through 2022: 24.2 percent

Median salary: $39,940

Duties: Repair stairways, door frames and other structures; install kitchen cabinets, siding, drywall and other related household fixtures.

Education: Most carpenters learn through an apprenticeship; some learn on the job as an assistant.

Median salary: $29,370

Duties: Take a patient's blood pressure and temperature; provide other clinical and administrative and clinical assistance.

Education: Most medical assistants have some postsecondary education, such as a certificate; others have a high school diploma and learn through on-the-job training.

Projected growth through 2022: 18.6 percent

Median salary: $78,600

Duties: Advise managers on how to make organizations more efficient and profitable through reduced costs and increased revenues.

Education: Most have at least a bachelor's degree; a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation may improve job prospects.
