Employment Picture Remains Grim
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Nevada continued to lead the nation with the highest unemployment of any state, at 14.4 percent in September. Our labor market is also experiencing the highest unemployment rate in the history of Nevada.
Meanwhile, 50+ job seekers throughout the country are finding themselves unemployed for than their younger counterparts, with August figures showing that 50+ job seekers send an average of seven weeks plus additional time looking for work.
