Age and workplace discrimination and related legislative issues are among the topics explored in this November 2006 telephone survey of Indiana 50+ workers.
Survey results include the following:
- More than one-third (35%) of respondents has experienced or knows of someone who has experienced age discrimination.
- More than six in ten (65%) respondents either strongly support (39%) or somewhat support (26%) legislation extending age discrimination protection to Indiana workers who are older than 75.
- More than three-fourths (77%) of respondents support changing Indiana state law to allow individuals to bring age discrimination cases to courts without going through the State Department of Labor.
