For its full- and part-time employees, the health system provides on-site care for children, grandchildren and elders; backup care for children, grandchildren, and elders; and referral services to help employees find care for children, grandchildren, and elders.
Benefits/Alternative Work Arrangements: Jennings offers the following alternative-work arrangements to its full- and part-time employees: flextime, job sharing, and telecommuting. It allows full-time employees working at least 35 hours to have compressed work schedules.
Although Jennings does not have a formal phased-retirement program, it offers employees interested in retiring part-time or flexible schedules, if an opportunity is available. Full-time employees are eligible to move to part-time work on a permanent or temporary basis.
Opportunities for Retirees: Jennings currently has 49 retirees and an employee directly responsible for retiree relations. Jennings stays connected with its retirees by communicating regularly, by inviting retirees to organization events or celebrations, and by formally acknowledging employees on their retirement. The Center offers retirees temporary work assignments, consulting and contract work, telecommuting, volunteering, and full-and part-time work.
Age of Workforce: Thirty-six percent of Jennings employees are 50+. The average tenure of employees age 50+ is 6.5 years.
