Benefits/Alternative-Work Arrangements: Full-time employees at OCU can take advantage of flextime, job-sharing, telecommuting, the ability to work compressed schedules, and a formal, phased-retirement program. The program allows faculty to teach half-time for three years while still retaining full benefits. Full-time employees may also move to part-time work on a temporary basis.
Opportunities for Retirees: The university's 63 retirees benefit from the dedicated service of a university staff member responsible for retiree relations. Retirees are invited to events, receive formal acknowledgement when they retire, and have free access to university events, the libraries, the weight-training center, and wellness and exercise classes. In addition to the recreational opportunities, retirees can also take part in temporary assignments, consulting work, telecommuting, and full- and part-time opportunities.
Age of Workforce: Forty-one percent of OCU employees are age 50+, with an average tenure of 13 years.
