The following wellness programs are available to full- and part-time employees: flu shots, health screenings, health-risk appraisals, smoking-cessation programs, health-club discounts, physical activity and exercise programs, weight-loss programs, stress-management training, and an annual health fair In addition, the credit union offers a program called "When the Fun Stops," which helps people who have developed gambling problems. Sixty-nine percent of the company's employees have used at least one of its wellness benefits during the past 12 months.
Nevada Federal offers its full- and part-time employees referral services to help them locate day care for children, grandchildren, and elders, and the credit union provides backup care for children, grandchildren, and elders.
Benefits/Alternative-Work Arrangements: Full- and part-time employees are eligible to work flextime and compressed schedules, to participate in job sharing, to telecommute, or to enter a phased-retirement program. Full-time employees are eligible to move to part-time work on a permanent and temporary basis.
Opportunities for Retirees: The company currently has 34 retirees and an employee who is directly responsible for managing retiree relations. The company stays connected with its retirees by inviting retirees to events and celebrations, by providing ongoing access to retirement planning workshops and information, and by formally acknowledging employees when they retire. Retirees are also invited to the annual employee picnic.
Age of Workforce: Thirty-three percent of Nevada Federal Credit Union employees are age 50+, with an average tenure of slightly more than 11 years.
