Benefits/Alternative-Work Arrangements: All Harvard employees are eligible for alternative-work arrangements, including flextime, compressed schedules, job sharing, and telecommuting. Full-time employees can move to part-time work on a permanent or temporary basis.

The university also keeps in contact with retirees by inviting them to events, sending them subscriptions to Harvard's magazines, offering them continued access to retirement-planning information, and regularly communicating with the university's retiree association. Retirees are eligible for part-time, temporary, consulting, and telecommuting opportunities.
