AARP’s My Generation has been nominated for a National Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Lifestyle Program category for the second consecutive year.
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recognizes excellence in television with the coveted Emmy, universally acknowledged as the highest honor in the television industry. Winners will be announced on Sunday, June 17 at a ceremony in Los Angeles. The other nominated programs include The Martha Stewart Show (Hallmark), Cars.TV (Cars.TV), Chop Cut Rebuild (SPEED) and Rough Cut (PBS).
This nomination recognizes the full season of programs aired in 2011. The episode submitted for judging is dedicated to the quintessential lifestyle topic — "The Second Chance." Four unique stories of redemption, reinvention, reconstruction and re-creation demonstrate the importance of never giving up. Each reminds us of the countless ways we may all choose to turn adversity into happiness and success, asking, “What would you do with a second chance?”
