As Thanksgiving passengers begin the pilgrimage to airports nationwide, complaints about new security "body-scanners" and frustration with air travel in general are leaving travelers crying for help.
Luckily, a new, free Transportation Security Administration mobile phone application, "MyTSA," can assist you in getting to your flight more smoothly. Download it to your phone or mobile device for:
Airport Status: With FAA information, see what airports are experiencing general delays (not flight specific) or search for conditions at a specific airport.
‘Can I Bring?’: Type in an item you plan to bring to see if it is permitted or prohibited, and whether you can pack it in carry-on or checked bags.
Air Travel Guide: Travel tips on popular topics, including traveling with children, rules for liquids, special medical needs, packing tips, attire for airport security, tips for military members, and traveling with food and gifts.
Security Wait Times: Share your wait time and see what wait times other passengers have posted for U.S. airports.
To get MyTSA, type www.tsa.gov/mobile into your mobile device. You can find the MyTSA iPhone app on iTunes.
