4. Watch the Fine Print
Some destinations are harder to ship to than others, and people often make mistakes when filling out international documentation.
If the shipment has incorrect documentation or is missing customs forms, your luggage can be delayed or you may be nailed with high customs fees. Dedicated luggage-shipping services will often do that work for you, but regardless, confirm with the shipping company if the paperwork is filled out completely and correctly.
