Algonquin Park is one of Canada's largest provincial parks with more than 2,000 lakes. Established as a wildlife sanctuary in 1893, it's famous for its natural beauty. It's familiar beyond its borders for the landscape's profound influence on the Group of Seven artists who came here to find inspiration; they recorded their impressions in timeless works of art that hang in galleries the world over, especially in the AGO in Toronto.
