4. Go Traditional at Colonial Houses
Thanksgiving and other holiday traditions date from colonial times, so why not visit a few city landmarks that do, too? Most convenient is the Financial District's Fraunces Tavern (1719), where George Washington delivered his 1783 farewell address to the Continental Army; it doubles as a museum and restaurant. In Brooklyn you can take a guided tour of the Wyckoff House, a saltbox in the Flatbush area that dates from 1652, or visit the Brooklyn Museum's two-room Schenck House (1775).
