The 200-room Omni Mount Washington Resort, a Spanish Renaissance landmark in New Hampshire's White Mountains, has just undergone a $60 million expansion and renovation. No need to burnish the history of the place, though: The World Bank was established in a room just off the lobby in 1944. Snow and mountains abound, so there's plenty of skiing in the winter; in the summer you can play real golf or flying-disk golf. But the big attraction is the hotel's three-and-a-half-hour Bretton Woods Canopy Tour, a series of suspension bridges and zip lines that descend 1,000 feet of mountainside along the roof of the forest. The place is open year-round.
