According to eMarketer, 2009 was the year of the Baby Boomer on Facebook. Boomers flocked to social networking sites with usage among the generation increasing by 15 percent in from 2008 to 2009 and over 73 percent with profiles on Facebook.
But the real story appear to be the 63 to 75 year olds, whose use of social networking grew 22 percent from 2008 to 2009, with 90 percent of all users choosing Facebook as their social networking site. While there are other social networking sites, Facebook seemed a natural place to start the social networking adventure for AARP Nevada.
