Cutting-edge health technology companies engaged with Life@50+ attendees in Las Vegas

The AARP Health Innovation@50+ Tech Expo, brought to you by AARP Thought Leadership, was held during the Spring 2013 Life@50+ in Las Vegas. The Tech Expo showcased the latest trends in digital
health technology solutions across a spectrum of health and wellness challenges that we face in our day-to-day lives.

 

As part of the Tech Expo, AARP was proud to present the Health Innovation@50+ LivePitch competition. Health and wellness startup companies had the opportunity to pitch innovative products and services for the 50-plus community to investors and consumers. On the Life@50+

exhibit floor, AARP members interacted with entrepreneurs in the Tech Expo booth who are transforming healthcare with solutions designed to improve the quality of life for the 50-plus and their loved ones.

Caremerge LivePitch

Asif Khan, CEO of Caremerge was on stage at the Innovation@50+ LivePitch presenting to an audience of AARP members and health innovation experts. Caremerge's care cordination service lets cargegivers stay on top of your loved one’s well-being and chat with providers at a senior care institution.

First Lego League LivePitch

First Lego League (FFL) Team "Robolution" presented their innovative anti-dehydration braclet on stage at LivePitch. Talk about confidence —  the average age of the team is 11 years old! Team Robolution was the winner of an AARP Innovation Challenge on meeting the needs of the 65-plus.

Wello LivePitch

Ann Scott, CEO of Wello, took the stage at Innovation@50+ LivePitch to present to an audience of AARP members and health innovation experts. Wello makes personalized fitness easier by offering individual and group webcam workouts with live trainers.

At the Innovation@50+ Tech Expo booth on the Life@50+ exhibit floor, Jim Seles of Bodymedia demonstrated a wireless wearable fitness device that automatically and accurately captures your calories, activity and sleep around the clock.

Breezie Demo

Todd McCormack of Breezie demonstrated their service that removes clutter and confusion from popular Internet applications. The service comes with a fully set-up touch-screen tablet and a facility for family members to remotely personalize and choose services, apps and tailored content.

Scavenger Hunt Winner

Members entered for a chance to win an iPad mini in daily drawings. Members visited companies in the Health Innovation@50+ Tech Expo area, talked to the entrepreneurs and collected stamps on their passbook.
