Do you have questions about long-term care?

Are you wondering what options are available to your family in West Virginia?

AARP West Virginia is teaming up with the West Virginia Health Care Association to provide state residents with reliable information about how to choose long-term care.

The 2008 Consumer Guide to Extended Care Facilities: The Resource for Long Term Care Services is a guidebook for patients, family members, health care providers and others who help West Virginians choose long-term care.

The guide includes information about when to consider a facility, how to choose one and what to do when you visit a facility. It also explains admissions agreements, the ombudsman program, Hospice care, and how extended care is paid for.

Long-term care facilities are listed by county, with important information about facility type and special services available, as well as results of surveys on family and employee satisfaction–both indicators of the quality of a facility.
