AARP To Host Consumer University: Health Care 101 in Wheeling

AARP West Virginia and several local agencies are teaming up to host Consumer University: Health Care 101 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on April 9, 2008 in Glessner Auditorium at Oglebay Park in Wheeling.

Consumer University: Health Care 101 is a one-day educational forum coupled with a Health Fair. The day will begins with an opening session at 9:30 a.m. and concludes with an ice cream social and door prizes by 3 p.m. The program will include sessions on nutrition, healthy behaviors, Medicare, Medicare fraud, long-term care options, Alzheimer’s disease, advanced directives and end of life issues and Hospice.

Participants will have an opportunity to discuss health care issues in a community conversation setting during the event. Lunch will be provided. Health screenings will also be offered throughout the day.
 
Area residents and AARP members are invited to participate in this important health care program. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
